Joshua Kaile
United Kingdom
As Head of Programmes and Policy in IFAW’s UK office, Josh is responsible for the development and implementation of IFAW’s program work across the region.
Josh brings more than seven years experience working on animal welfare campaigns in the UK and around the world, in particular working in public affairs and communications. His first animal welfare role at the League Against Cruel Sports was successfully working to protect the Hunting Act from the threat of repeal around the time of the UK’s 2010 General Election. From there he went on to work for World Animal Protection on many other campaigns including tackling wildlife crime, addressing the problem of ghost fishing gear on marine animals and ending sea turtle farming.
In recent years Josh worked for high profile Labor MPs including heading up the office of Rt Hon David Lammy MP and then working on Sir Keir Starmer’s campaign to become Leader of the Labor Party.
Josh is delighted to be back working in animal welfare and is keen to ensure that IFAW runs some of the most effective and exciting campaigns out of the UK office. He’s a huge animal lover of everything from dogs to bears and monkeys to green sea turtles!
Josh has a BA in Politics and International Relations and a Masters in Politics from the University of Kent at Canterbury.
